It will be produced by Goldsmith-Thomas Productions and Julia Roberts' Red Om Films, released by New Line Cinema (in which its sister studio Warner Bros. produced the first three American Girl TV movies), and written by Ann Peacock. Abigail Breslin has been chosen to play Kit Kittredge, the main character, and filming was thought to have started around late May in Toronto, as some websites have stated.
