The Lightman Group is severing ties with the FBI in season 3, which means Mekhi Phifer (a.k.a. Special Agent Ben Reynolds) is out of a job. 'We're going rogue a little bit,'Â explains Lie to Me executive producer David Graziano. In the season finale of "Lie to Me", the seemingly flawless Dr. Cal Lightman will make a mistake that puts someone close to him in danger. The Lightman Group investigates the murder of a journalist friend of Lightman who was exposing a corrupt politician. This is a case that tests Lightman's relationship with Reynolds and the FBI. Meanwhile, Emily's newfound interest in dating makes her father uncomfortable. Skipping the Labor Day weekend, the episode called "Black & White" will air two weeks from now, September 13 to be exact. "Lie to Me" has been renewed for the third season that will begin November 10. Showrunner Shawn Ryan won't be in charge anymore but he managed to tease a few bits about the second season finale before departing and being replaced by Alexander Gray. "We put some characters in jeopardy," he told TV Guide. "We really tried to end the season as a launching pad for Season 3." How do you feel about the writers giving Ria a younger sister, given how independent she has been? I really love it. It's a nice way to reveal more about Ria's character and challenge her in a way we haven't seen. If you were asked to create/describe a romantic interest for Ria, what would it be? Ha! How about someone like Johnny Depp? Can we make that happen? In all seriousness, I'd have to describe a mysterious romantic interest who holds the cards close to his chest but when he opens up, he's loyal for life. Lie to Me has booked Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn for a guest spot, a show rep says. The 42-year-old actress will play Internal Affairs Detective Jenkins, a politically savvy policewoman on her way to the top. She realizes Lightman (Tim Roth) must be handled delicately as she tries to take down Detective Wallowski (Monique Curnen). Gunn is slated to appear in the new season's third episode, according to Entertainment Weekly, which first broke the news. Season 3 of Lie to Me premieres Wednesday, Nov. 10 on Fox. Source Here
