'Louie' Season 4 gets a premiere date on FX

FX has at long last set a premiere date for Season 4 of "Louie." The Emmy-nominated comedy from Louis C.K. will premiere on May 5.After Season 3 ended, C.K. asked FX for some extra time between seasons to recharge his creative batteries -- he writes, directs and edits every episode in addition to starring -- while targeting a spring 2014 return date. It seems to have worked, because while FX ordered 13 episodes for the season, he delivered 14."Louis said he needed extra time between seasons three and four of his show because -- even though Louie was the most critically acclaimed television comedy series in America -- he needed to make it even better," FX Networks CEO John Landgraf says. I am sorry to say this, but there are very few shows as funny as  Louie  on TV right now. Honestly, funny is not the right word. How about complex and awkward and uncomfortable and genius? Those all seem to fit better. It is a comedy(?) show like we have never seen. Imperfect people trying to figure out how to live in an imperfect world. 'Louie' Season 4: Filming starts in the fall for spring 2014 premiere

The winter, spring, summer, fall, and second winter of "Louie" fans' discontent will be coming to an end next year. It's been about eight months since Louis C.K. and FX announced that "Louie" would take an extended hiatus to allow C.K. to recharge his creative batteries. At a press briefing Thursday (June 6), FX Networks president of original programming Eric Schrier told Zap2it that the network is still targeting a spring 2014 premiere for Season 4 of the series -- and that C.K., who writes, directs and edits the show in addition to starring, is getting ready to film in the fall."He's doing great," Schrier says. "We've heard that he's written all the scripts."
