Margot at the Wedding is a 2007 film written and directed by Noah Baumbach. It is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed, Academy Award nominated film The Squid and the Whale. The film tells the story of Margot and her son Claude who decide to visit her sister Pauline after she announces that she is getting married to less-than-impressive Malcolm. In short order, the storm the sisters create leaves behind a a mess of thrashed relationships and exposed family secrets. The film premiered August 31, 2007 at the 34th Telluride Film Festival.
