Meet the Spartans is a parody film set for release on January 25, 2008. It was written, directed, and co-produced by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer and is a followup to their 2007 release, Epic Movie. The MPAA rated it PG-13 for crude and sexual content throughout, language, and some comic violence. Although it references many movies, TV shows, people and pop cultural events, it focuses mainly on the movie 300. The cast includes Sean Maguire, Carmen Electra, Kevin Sorbo, Ken Davitian, Method Man, Diedrich Bader, Nicole Parker, Crista Flanagan, Ike Barinholtz, and many more.

Did not like it

I love the original 300 and was expecting too much with the spoof. Was not very happy with the movie as it appears to be unrealistic unlike other spoofed films.

Could have been more

There are some pretty decent laughs in it but the movie parodies far too many popular TV shows, like ugly Betty and Americaâs Next Top Model, and so looses its flow. It could have been a great 300 spoof, pointing out the overuse of violence and ...

After successfully skewering Hollywood's scariest movie (as two of the writers on Scary Movie), romantic comedy franchises (Date Movie), and Hollywood blockbusters (Epic Movie), writers/directors/producers Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer now set their sights on 300. The heroic Leonidas, armed with nothing by leather underwear and a cape, leads a ragtag group of 13 - count 'em, 13! -- Spartans to defend their homeland against the invading Persians (whose ranks include Ghost Rider, Rocky Balboa, the Transformers, and a hunchbacked Paris Hilton).
