Melora never shot a single frame of the movie, as she was let go when Eric Stoltz was fired as the original Marty McFly because she was considered to be too tall to be Marty's girlfriend once Michael J. Fox famously took over the role. Once Melora left, Claudia was brought back on because her series didn't get picked up by ABC for a full season.

In the new movie that she directed called "You" her real-life daughter Rory Jackson played her daughter named Quincy. This name is actually, the middle name of her youngest daughter, Piper, and also the name of a TV show that she acted a long time ago. Recently Melora acted in "Gilmore Girls" and one of the main characters have the same name of her daughter, Rory.
