Dana Delany will again headline her own series next year with ABC's pickup of Body of Proof, and the Shonda Rhimes-produced Off the Map also has a home at the network, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Proof centers on Dr. Megan Hunt (Delany), a medical examiner who tries to balance her overwhelming work and personal life. Rhimes' third medical series follows three docs (Caroline Dhavernas, Mamie Gummer, Enrique Murciano) with troubled pasts who leave the U.S. to do some good at a clinic in a jungle. Body of Proof and Off the Map join No Ordinary Family, Mr. Sunshine, Happy Endings, Better Together, Detroit 187, The Whole Truth, and My Generation as new scripted ABC shows for the 2010-11 season. Wonderfalls' Caroline Dhavernas has been cast as one of the three leads in Off the Map, Shonda Rhimes' new medical pilot for ABC. Dhavernas, 31, will play Lily, a young doctor who deals with tragedy by moving to a jungle in South America to work in a free clinic. Working with Lily at the clinic will be Meena, an infectious disease specialist with a shadowy past, and Manny (Without a Trace's Enrique Murciano), an egotistical plastic surgeon. Meena has not yet been cast. Map will be executive-produced by Rhimes and written by Grey's Anatomy co-executive producer Jenna Bans. Source Here
Mamie Gummer has been cast in Shonda Rhimes' new medical drama Off the Map. Gummer, Meryl Streep's 26-year-old daughter who recently guest-starred in The Good Wife, will play Mina Minard, the third in the trio of doctors who leave the U.S. to work in a South American medical clinic. The pilot centers on Mina, Lily (Caroline Dhavernas) and Manny (Enrique Murciano), who each are trying to leave behind spotted pasts. Jason George, Martin Henderson and Valerie Cruz also star.
