More Information

One Piece is the tale of the Great Pirate Age, a time in the world when pirates freely roam the seas. As the great Pirate King Gold Roger dies, he tells people to search for his greatest treasure, which he left in one piece. In search of his riches, hundreds of intrepid sailors take up piracy and search for the One Piece, which will crown the new Pirate King when it is found!

Our hero, Monkey D. Luffy, is one such sailor with dreams of becoming the Pirate King. After he eats a Devil Fruit, his body turns to rubber and his fighting power becomes at once silly and fearsome! He can't swim, but he's still determined to gather up a grand pirate crew and find the One Piece while meeting loyal friends, making powerful enemies, and traveling the Grand Line.

Luffy's rubber-bodied fighting style sets the tone for all of One Piece - while the action and drama can get intense at times, you never forget that the hero of the series is just plain silly. Whether he's blowing himself up into a balloon, puffing his limbs up to gigantic size to beat his enemies, or slingshotting himself recklessly across the battlefield, Luffy reminds you that One Piece is an over-the-top fantasy that is meant, above all things, to be fun. The silliness spills over to other characters in the series as well, from the overly armed swordsman Roronoa Zoro, who has so many swords he carries one in his teeth, to Captain X (Diez) Drake, who turns into a dinosaur and bites people.

With incredibly inventive character designs, imaginative fight scenes, and epic story arcs that will constantly have you at the edge of your seat, One Piece is a freebooting pirate-themed thrill ride you'll never forget!
