Will 'One Tree Hill' live on? Executive producer Mark Schwahn would consider a reunion

This Wednesday, fans will watch the final episode of "One Tree Hill" when the ninth season wraps with a two-hour goodbye event on The CW. Though we'll bid farewell to our favorite characters, the show lives on within the show, as Julian combines his two passions - film making and Brooke. But just how final is this finale? There's no denying the popularity of remakes, revamps, and the ever-trendy "reimaginings" these days. The CW's "90210" comes to mind, of course. This season alone, The CW is developing two series -- "The Carrie Diaries" and "Beauty and the Beast" -- based on television shows that wrapped years ago. It's only natural to wonder whether "One Tree Hill" could resurface, whether as a reunion movie or a revived series. Zap2it checked in with creator Mark Schwahn for one last "One Tree Hill" chat this week, and he told us that he'd certainly consider visiting Tree Hill again...

One Tree Hill made viewers smile last night, airing a penultimate episode that was surprisingly light and happy . But why do we have a feeling that the tears will be flowing next Wednesday evening? Probably because One Tree Hil l will sign off after nine seasons following an episode aptly, simply titled... "One Tree Hill." The official CW description teases a "final chapter" that will mark the 10th anniversary of Tric and bring with it "old faces and new possibilities for the Tree Hill family." Prepare to cry. A lot. 'One Tree Hill' series finale: Brooke returns to Peyton's room in a 'love letter to the fans'

On Wednesday, "One Tree Hill" fans will watch the series finale -- almost exactly ten years after the cast and crew first gathered to film the pilot episode. Series creator and executive producer Mark Schwahn, who has been along for the ride the entire way, filmed a short preview. It's a testament to the characters he created that we nearly started crying just watching it."It's episode number 187, it's our series finale, and it's called 'One Tree Hill,'" says Schwahn, who both wrote and directed the episode, which centers around the ten-year anniversary of the opening of Tric nightclub, a focal location over the course of the show. Appropriately, Gavin DeGraw -- whose career was launched when his song was chosen as the theme song in 2003 -- will perform, as will series vet Bethany Joy Lenz."We all enjoyed making this show. Fast National ratings for Wednesday, March 28, 2012FOX's "American Idol" was up a bit this week in both hours, winning the night for most viewers and the 18-49 demographic. CBS' "Survivor: One World" fell some this week, as did The CW's "One Tree Hill." The CW's "America's Next Top Model: British Invasion" got a small bump in ratings, while NBC's "Bent" fell to 2.5 million viewers.FOX averaged 17.15 million viewers with a 10.2 rating/17 share in households for the night. CBS came in a more distant second at 8.3 million, 5.2/9. Third place went to ABC with 4.3 million, 2.9/5, fourth was NBC with 3.14 million, 2.1/3, and The CW at 1.34 million, 0.9/2.In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX won with a 5.0 rating, followed by CBS more distantly (2.1), then ABC (1.3), NBC (1.0) and the CW (0.6)....
