TV Ratings: 'America's Got Talent' premiere trumps NBA Finals in total viewers

Fast national ratings for Tuesday, May 31, 2011.The premiere of "America's Got Talent" followed by a new episode of "The Voice" propelled NBC to a total viwers win, even in the face of the NBA Finals Game 1 between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat. The "AGT" premiere was also up considerably from the 2010 premiere (which improved upon the 2009 premiere). The 2010 premiere averaged 12.3 million viewers, while the 2011 premiere averaged almost 15 million viewers.NBC's win was set by an average of 14.8 million viewers and an 8.7 rating/14 share in households. ABC, aided by the NBA, was second with 10.8 million, 6.4/10, followed by CBS at 9 million, 6.0/10, FOX at 2.6 million, 1.7/3 and the CW at 861 K, 0.6/1.In the 18-49 demo, ABC took the title with a 4.5 rating, followed closely by NBC at 4.4. One Tree Hill's Robert Buckley: "Clay's Had a Really Rough Year"

Now that One Tree Hill has officially been renewed, fans must wonder: Will madly in love couple Clay (Robert Buckley) and Quinn (Shantel VanSanten) survive this season's cliff-hanger finale? After an otherwise happy season-ender, the show ended with stalker Katie (Amanda Schull) gunning Clay and Quinn down. But not to worry: Buckley told TVGuide.com he's pretty confident he will be sticking around next year. Preview of 'One Tree Hill' Season Finale

Preview of what could be the last "One Tree Hill" episode shows Haley drowning herself in a pool. In the May 17 episode, Haley tries to overcome her depression by joining Nathan, Jamie and the rest of the Tree Hill gang on a trip to Utah for the premiere of Julian's film. The CW has not landed a decision to pick up "Hill" for an eighth season. Based on previous reports, "Hill" would have to cut budgets and actors if it wants to continue being on screen. Fans of the show have been campaigning for a renewal but the cast themselves are still in the dark. "It's been two months of waiting to find out if I have a job," Robert Buckley told On The Red Carpet on Sunday, May 9. Katie, this season's psycho stalker, will continue to creep out One Tree Hill in next Monday's episode entitled "What's In The Ground Belongs To You." Just how far will she go to get Clay in her life? Check out the video after the jump to find out. In the clip, Clay comes home hoping to find Quinn but instead finds an intruder in the form of Katie, who is now convinced that she is Sarah.
