In Columbia Pictures' comedy Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Kevin James stars as the title character, a single, suburban dad, trying to make ends meet as a security officer at a New Jersey mall. It's a job he takes very seriously, though no one else does. When Santa's helpers at the mall stage a coup, shutting down the megaplex and taking hostages (Paul's daughter and sweetheart among them), Jersey's most formidable mall cop will have to become a real cop to save the day.

Production Info

The film started shooting in late March 2008.The movie began shooting in Boston. Principal shooting took place at the Burlington Mall in Burlington, MA. From late March until mid-April, the mall and its stores were decorated with Christmas decorations, and there was a large prop ball-pit in the main foyer of the mall. Shooting took place mostly at night. The South Shore Plaza in Braintree, MA was the location of subsequent shooting.

The cop is played by Kevin James with Keir O'Donnell as his counterpart. Ugly Betty star Jayma Mays plays James' love interest. The movie is directed by Steve Carr.
