With the Johto League Silver Conference behind them, Ash, Brock, and Misty head back to Viridian City to relax. Their vacation is cut short when Misty receives an urgent call beckoning her back to Cerulean City to run the gym while her sisters cruise the world. Brock too realizes that has things he has to do back home. After a teary goodbye, the three friends return to their hometowns. Ash, wondering what life will like without traveling with Misty and Brock thinks of what he should do, and an attempt to steal Pikachu from Team Rocket may give him the answer.
