TV ratings: 'NCIS' finale tops 'America's Got Talent' Tuesday, two-hour 'Glee' falls

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, May 15, 2012The season finales of "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" carried CBS to an across-the-board ratings win Tuesday, while night two of "America's Got Talent" improved slightly in viewers but declined in adults 18-49.Elsewhere, a double dose of "Glee" on FOX was down a little from its performance last week, and the season finale of "Private Practice" improved on its week-ago numbers.CBS averaged 16.3 million viewers and a 10.3 rating/16 share for the night, leading second-place NBC (8.6 million, 5.3/8) by a wide margin. ABC (7.8 million, 5.3/8) came in third. FOX drew 6 million viewers and a 3.6/6, while The CW managed only about 830,000 viewers and a 0.6/1.CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.2 rating. NBC was second at 2.8, followed by FOX at 2.5. ABC scored a 1.7 in the demo, and The CW came in at 0.4....

'Private Practice' star Paul Adelstein dishes on the Season 5 finale

Thank goodness "Private Practice" is officially coming back for a sixth season, because star Paul Adelstein tells Zap2it that the Season 5 finale, airing Tuesday, May 15 at 10 p.m. on ABC, is filled with multiple cliffhangers. " I don't think there's a lot of closure built into that finale," he admits. "There's a lot of stuff going on."Obviously, a lot of the storyline will revolve around Amelia and what's going on with her baby (it's developing without a brain, and she decided to carry it to term and donate its organs to help other infants). Private Practice and Body of Proof: Renewed!

A very busy day at ABC continues. Following the renewal of Scandal ; the cancellation of GCB and others; and the announcement of nine new shows , the network has given a green light to season six of Private Practice and season three of Body of Proof . Private Practice has averaged 8.1 million viewers and a 3.0 rating this season, with Body of Proof garnering 9.9 million and a 2.1 rating. ABC has also ordered another season of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 .

'Private Practice's' Shonda Rhimes: Season Finale Will Leave Some Questions Unanswered

  Private Practice  showrunner  Shonda Rhimes  is optimistic that the ABC medical drama will return for a sixth installment and approached writing the final episode of the  Kate Walsh  starrer's fifth year as a season finale instead of a series finale. After losing its cushy post- Grey's Anatomy  time slot earlier this season and relocating to Tuesdays to make way for Rhimes'  Scandal , the drama needed a week to gain its footing but has performed well in its new home, following  Dancing With the Stars . TV ratings: 'Glee' and 'Private Practice' improve Tuesday but '90210' is low

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, April 24, 2012"Glee" rebounded some Tuesday from its season-low ratings of a week ago, and more people found "Private Practice" in its new timeslot on ABC as well. ABC also got a little bump from "Cougar Town."Elsewhere, "The Voice" results show was about even with last week, falling a tenth of a point in adults 18-49 but still topping the night in the demographic. The first new episode of "90210" in more than a month came in a little below average for The CW, while the premiere of "The L.A. Complex" was pretty much ignored.Despite airing a slate of reruns, CBS still led the night in viewers with 9.9 million and a 6.6 rating/10 share in households. ABC (9.3 million, 6.2/10) finished second. NBC took third with 6.7 million viewers and a 4.2/7, beating out FOX's 5.5 million and 3.5/6. The CW (908,000, 0.6/1) brought up the rear.FOX scored a...
