Rain of Madness is a 2008 film released through DreamWorks. The first trailer went live on July 8, 2008. The film is a mockumentary surrounding the production of the movie Tropic Thunder. The film is a parody of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse, which was a documentary of Apocalypse Now, another Vietnam War film. Rain of Madness is a mockumentary chronicling the fictional war movie that is the subject of the upcoming Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder. A trailer has been released online. Steve Coogan, Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. lead an ensemble cast in "Tropic Thunder", an action comedy about a group of self-absorbed actors who set out to make the most expensive war film. After ballooning costs force the studio to cancel the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast into the jungles of Southeast Asia, where they encounter real bad guys.
