Bill Maher Panelist Apologizes for Wishing Death to All Republicans on 'Real Time' (Video)

After a guest wished death to all Republicans on Friday night, HBO and its  Real Time With Bill Maher  show became home to “the most vile political talk ever broadcast,” according to a watchdog group. In a discussion about U.S. debt,  Maher compared Republicans to  Yasser Arafat , the deceased former president of the Palestinian National Authority. That’s when panelist  Dan Savage , a writer, pundit and gay-rights activist, said: “Unfortunately not exactly like (Arafat). I wish they were all f--king dead.” Read More...

Bill Maher Compares Casey Anthony Verdict to Republican Thinking (Video)

Joining a chorus of media personalities in criticizing the  Casey Anthony  verdict,  Bill Maher  drew parallels between the jury's not-guilty decision and the Republican voters on Friday night's Real Time with Bill Maher. "Before you accuse me of equating the Casey Anthony verdict with Republican thinking, save your breath -- I am. I'm equating them," he said. "If you're a working-class American who still votes Republican, then you don't get to bitch about that verdict." Maher went on to detail the Republican beliefs regarding job creation and budget cuts as they relate to Anthony's case. Read More...

Video: Jane Lynch Reads Anthony Weiner's Uncensored Sex Messages on 'Real Time'

" Real Time with Bill Maher " has made use of its advantage for being on a pay cable network by reading raunchy sex messages between Anthony Weiner and Las Vegas blackjack dealer Lisa Weiss. The show's host welcomed   Jane Lynch   to help him poke fun at the sexting scandal.   "Here at Real Time, we do take our responsibility very seriously as the one show, because we're on pay cable, where we can say anything and quote anything,"   Bill Maher   said before introducing the actress who will host upcoming Daytime Emmy Awards. "And the texts from Anthony Weiner... were printed this week. Most people could not show them to you; we are going to read them verbatim."   Read More...

Zach Galifianakis Tries to Outdo Smoking Pot on 'Real Time with Bill Maher' (VIDEO)

Back on October 29, 2010, Zach Galifianakis set the Internet on fire after his appearance on 'Real Time' (Fri., 10PM ET on HBO). Bill Maher threw up a still shot of Galifianakis smoking a joint and announced that the clip of that appearance "got over 2 million hits on YouTube." In an effort to up the ante and generate even more buzz, Maher pulled out a tray with all the paraphernalia to shoot Galafianakis up with heroin. "Never done this before in my life," Galifianakis admitted. "Yeah, everything's ending, so let's just do it." Of course, everything didn't end as predicted, so now Galifianakis has to deal with the aftermath of his decision. What on earth can they do to top shooting up heroin live on the air?

Ed Schultz and Michael Steele Shout at Each Other on 'Real Time' (VIDEO)

Former GOP chairman Michael Steele and MSNBC talker Ed Schultz got into quite a heated debate over Republican congressmen Paul Ryan's plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system on 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Friday, 10PM ET on HBO). As the two loudly articulated their points, one suspected that ABC political director Amy Walter, who was seated between the men, was getting sprayed with spittle. After a while, Maher indicated Steele and Schultz needed to tone it down, and the discussion briefly moved on to the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War.

Bill Maher Suggests a Strange Way of Proving That John Boehner Is a Man (VIDEO)

A recent survey by Public Policy Polling found that 51 percent of those who plan on voting in the GOP primary believe that Barack Obama wasn't born in the U.S. On 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Weeknights, 10PM ET on HBO) Maher offered up a theory as to why so many conservatives embrace "birtherism," and then applied that same theory to Speaker of the House John Boehner, with strange results. "When they go a little deeper into the polling, they find out this is just based on a general sense," Maher explained. "It just feels to them like [Obama's] a foreigner. Well, you know, John Boehner wears bronzer and goes on crying jags. He just feels like a female to me. Maybe liberals should demand to see his penis."

Bill Maher Finds Another Way to Compare Charlie Sheen to Sarah Palin (VIDEO)

For the second week in a row, Bill Maher had some fun comparing Charlie Sheen to Sarah Palin on 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Friday, 10PM ET on HBO.) This time, Maher did so during his "New Rule" segment, which he kicked off by showing a photo from one of Sheen's latest web-rants, in which the actor had been wearing a pair of Ricky Vaughn-like glasses "New rule: Image isn't everything. It takes more than some clean clothes and a pair of nerd glasses to take an unemployed ego-lunatic and turn them into ... " Maher proclaimed, as the background photo switched from Sheen wearing glasses to one of the always-bespectacled Sarah Palin. "Oh, never mind."

Kevin Smith and Bill Maher Deal With an Interruption From a 9/11 Truther on 'Real Time' (VIDEO)

The treatment of women in the Muslim and Arab world was being discussed by the panel on 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Fri., 10PM ET on HBO) when an audience member began screaming himself into the conversation. "Bill have you seen what Hellfire missiles do to Muslim women?" The audience member yelled, interrupting the conversation. "Just last week you continued to reify the lies about 9/11 ... " "Dad, shut up!" panelist Kevin Smith yelled back at the truther, much to the delight of the crowd. Although the camera stayed focused on the panel, it became clear from the heckler's cries for security to unhand him that he was being led out of the studio. "That went better in rehearsal," Maher joked, as the man continued to scream. A few years ago a group of 9/11 truthers infiltrated the 'Real Time' audience and interrupted the show for several minutes. So it's entirely possible that Maher had been sitting on his "rehearsal" quip since then. As for Smith, he's just a quick-thinking fellow.

Bill Maher Criticizes the Rally to Restore Sanity: 'You Might as Well Make It About Something' (VIDEO)

Bill Maher was apparently not a fan of the Rally To Restore Sanity and/or Fear. On Real Time With Bill Maher (Friday, 8 PM ET on HBO), Maher criticized the event, which was put on by Comedy Central personalities Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, for its lack of purpose. "If you are going to have a rally in which hundreds of thousands of people show up, you might as well make it about something," Maher said. Maher also agreed with the recently-suspended-from MSNBC Keith Olbermann, who's been upset that Stewart drew the equivalency between the political commentators at Fox News and at MSNBC." "Keith Olbermann is right when he says he's not the equivalent of Glenn Beck," Maher explained. "One reports facts, and the other is very close to playing with his poop." Contrary to Maher's implication, we've watched enough Glenn Beck to be able to state with a high degree of certainty that he's never come anywhere close to feces-play on his show. However, given Beck's highly unorthodox use of props, we fear Maher may have just given him a new idea. Source & Video

VIDEO: Zach Galifianakis Lights Up a Joint on Real Time with Bill Maher

Zach Galifianakis will apparently go to great lengths to prove a point. In a heated discussion on Real Time with Bill Maher about California Proposition 19, which would legalize marijuana if passed, the 41-year-old Hangover star lit a joint on air. "I have to agree it's a tricky thing politically to jump on that bandwagon because I think that maybe people see it as taboo still," Galifianakis said about the substance before lighting up in front of Maher as well as three other guests. He then passed the joint to Fox News commentator Margaret Hoover, who confirmed that it was the real thing. To Read More Click Here.
