TV ratings: 'The Voice' and 'Dancing With the Stars' lead a Sandy-impacted Monday

Fast National ratings for Monday, Oct. 29, 2012Hurricane Sandy knocked out power to millions of people on the East Coast Monday, and a number of stations pre-empted regular programming for storm coverage. CBS and The CW also opted to air reruns from 8 to 10 p.m. instead of new episodes of their shows -- all of which will have an impact on the ratings.As things stand now, though, "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" gave ABC a win in total viewers for the night, while "The Voice" led NBC to the front of the adults 18-49 pack.ABC averaged 13.8 million viewers and an 8.9 rating/13 share in primetime, topping NBC's 11.4 million viewers and 6.5/10. CBS (7.2 million, 4.6/7) came in third. FOX (2.7 million, 1.6/2) was a distant fourth, and The CW trailed with about 825,000 viewers and a 0.6/1.NBC scored a 4.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, easily beating ABC's 2.7. In an effort to help fellow  REVOLUTION  addicts get over the fact that they will have to wait until Monday October 29th for the hit NBC show’s next new episode as a result of tonight’s third and final Presidential debate, we thought fans might enjoy this exclusive one-on-one with stars Billy Burke and Tracy Spiridakos. And while Burke and Spiridakos — who were in Toronto at the start of the Fall season to promote REVOLUTION’s premiere on CityTV in Canada — were not surprisingly tight-lipped when it came to what the future holds for their characters of uncle Miles and niece Charlie Matheson respectively, they more than made up for their total and utter lack of spoilers with — as the title of this post suggests — some snappy answers to our silly questions. Interview: Revolution’s Executive Producer Eric Kripke Discusses Secrets, Returning Characters and the Reason For One Character’s Death

Revolution  is gripping the nation, and  TV Equals  was able to learn more  about the hit apocalyptic drama from Revolution’s creator and executive producer , Eric Kripke. During the conference call , we learned about upcoming characters, a character who is making a return and the reason behind killing off one of the main characters. The genesis of  Revolution Kripke said classic adventure stories were the basis for his idea about a world off the grid . “I’m a huge fan of  Star Wars.  I’m a huge fan of The  Lord of the Rings.  I’m a huge fan of that kind of Joseph Campbell, classic, mythic storytelling–those big grand adventures,” he said. “Those are the kind of stories that are serviced in stories rather than television. But I think TV is actually the perfect format for that kind of format because they’re such big, sprawling stories and you have so many more hours in TV to explore all of the different facets of a world and the characters in that world and that you could give it epic scope but very intimate character focus.” Read More...

Abrams-produced show, which typically means all talent involved stay tight-lipped about what happens next, but creator Eric Kripke has actually been rather open about the fate of Charlie, Danny, Miles, et al.
