Top Moments: Ted Meets the Mother (Sort Of) and Late Night's Epic Lip-Sync Battle

Our top moments of the week: 13. Best Sexual Harassment:  In an effort to win back her old office on  The Mindy Project , Mindy convinces her new (and much less alcohol-tolerant) co-worker, Paul ( James Franco ) to a shots-off. When Mindy drinks Paul under the table, literally, she helps walk him home and leaves him, unconscious, at the door to his apartment. But not before the newly engaged Mindy decides to go in for a kiss. The minute she presses her lips against his, however, the drunk Paul yells "Whoa, mama! Help me! Whoa!"  Apparently that wasn't as good for him as it was for...   http://www.tvguide.com/News/Moments-Ted-Meets-Mother-1071363.aspx?rss=breakingnews

TV ratings: 'Modern Family' premiere down a bunch but still tops Wednesday, 'SVU' premiere rises

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2013"Modern Family" reclaimed its spot at Wednesday's top show among adults 18-49, but its Season 5 premiere was down significantly from last year's debut. That was pretty much the theme of the night: The premieres of nearly every returning show came in below their debuts last year. The lone exception was "Law & Order: SVU," which paid off last season's finale cliffhanger and rose significantly over its 2012 premiere."Modern Family" fell by close to 3 million viewers and more than a point among adults 18-49 vs. last year. "The Middle" and "Nashville" were also off for ABC. New comedy "Back in the Game" pulled OK numbers for its debut, holding most of its lead-in. "Criminal Minds" and "CSI" were each down a little from a year ago for CBS, and NBC's "Revolution" predictably took a big hit compared to last year's "Voice"-aided premiere. On the (small) upside, "Revolution"... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/tv-ratings-modern-family-premiere-down-a-bunch-but-still-tops-wednesday-svu-premiere-rises.html

'Revolution' Season 2 premiere - 'Born in the USA': The land of magic fireflies

The power did not stay on for long, it is apparent within a few seconds of "Revolution's" second-season premiere. But those few minutes of electricity at the end of last season have set up what could be a fundamentally different show. Whether it's a fundamentally better show? That's an open question. But in shifting the focus from a quest to getting things back the way they were to living in the world as it is, there is a chance to open up "Revolution" to some interesting storytelling. So we should probably start at the end, right? It's not every day that you see someone come back from the dead, as Aaron does in the final shot, presumably thanks to the nanites/magic fireflies that gathered around him earlier. After being slashed across the chest by a member of what Miles calls a "war clan,"* Aaron dies for a while. Just not for good.(*"Cult" might be a better... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/revolution-season-2-premiere---born-in-the-usa-the-land-of-magic-fireflies.html

'Survivor' vs. 'Revolution' and 'Law & Order: SVU' vs. 'Modern Family' - the Wednesday night traffic jam

It's premiere week for most of the fall 2013 shows and that means that while old shows are returning and no new shows have been culled just yet, the primetime schedule is busy. Here are a few tips for navigating Wednesday night, Sept. 25. "The Middle," "Back in the Game" and "Revolution" are all premiering in the 8 p.m. hour, up against "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" and "The X Factor." For what to watch live, we'd give the edge to "Revolution," if only to see what was going on with the president of the United States hiding out in Guantanamo Bay all these years. But if "Survivor" is your thing, it's the first elimination at Redemption Island, so perhaps you should tune in there if you're worried about getting spoiled as to who goes home. "The Middle" and "Back in the Game" are definite DVRers. "The X Factor" is too and here's why -- the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/survivor-vs-revolution-and-law-order-svu-vs-modern-family---the-wednesday-night-traffic-jam.html

'Revolution' Season 2: 5 things to look for in the premiere

The Season 1 finale of "Revolution" brought the world's power back on. The opening moments of Season 2, however, reveal that the fix was far from permanent. As creator Eric Kripke told fans at Comic-Con in July, the lights go back off rather quickly -- though not quickly enough to save Philadelphia and Atlanta, the two cities Flynn (Colm Feore) targeted with his nuclear missiles. The devastation in those two cities is discussed more than seen in the first two episodes, but based on what is said, it's every bit as bad as you might imagine. So, on that cheerful note, here are some of the other things you can look forward to seeing when "Revolution" returns at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday (Sept. 25) with an episode titled "Born in the USA."Time does not stand still: The show picks up several months after the power blinked on and back off. "Where were you when it came back... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/revolution-season-2-5-things-to-look-for-in-the-premiere.html
