Show Prologue

Where it all begins...

1194 After an epic journey from England, Robin of Locksley and his man Much, are camped outside Acre, the ancient port on the coast of the Mediterranean, now held by Salah al-Din and his vast Muslim army. Robin and Much are part of King Richard Coeur de Lion's bodyguard. Assassins

Since the beginning of the journey to the Holy land there have been three attempts to assassinate Richard.

Robin, renowned for his skill with a bow, was tasked to create perimeter protection for the King and he very successfully kept the usual mad men, relic hunters and thrill-seekers away from the King. He was also personally responsible for stopping two of the assassination attempts with his fine archer's skills.

The third attempt was a dark and dangerous betrayal. This attempt was by Christians, already inside Robin's protective circle. As the swords began to clang in Richard's inner most tent, Robin and Much raced to protect their King. With vicious force Robin slashed his way into the tent with his scimitar and began to kill without hesitation. This was bloody, sweaty and terrifying. Robin found himself fighting back to back with the King, for their lives.

Much aided his masters by creating such a hue and cry that the entire city began to stir. The murderers, realising that their cause was lost, hurled fire brands into the tent and raced off into the night. Robin, in a desperate attempt to capture one of them, held onto the arm of a man, only letting him go as he himself began to burn. The murderer had a very distinctive device tattooed around his wrist. A device that Robin swore to remember for the rest of his life, as he passed out. As Robin floated in and out of consciousness and Much treated his burns, King Richard stormed the port of Acre and regained its control for Christendom. Shortly afterwards he began to move his army south along the coast trying to keep the army supplied from the sea. Robin was left at Acre with the wounded.

As he was leaving King Richard visited Robin and thanked him personally for saving his life. Robin tried to insist he was fit enough to travel with the King but Richard overruled him. He gave Robin a royal travel warrant which would ensure that Robin was protected on his journey back to England.

When, several months latter, Robin arrived back in the shire of Nottingham he is shocked to discover what has become of his homeland.

And so our story begins...
