Roman Grant, played by Harry Dean Stanton on HBO's Big Love, is the head and "prophet" of the pologamist compound where his daughter, Nicki Grant grew up and where he and his family still live along with Bill Henrickson's family. Roman's daughter Nicki Grant is Bill Henrickson's second wife. They live with their family in a normal Utah suburb not too far from the compound. Bill refuses to be a part of it when he can avoid it, but he's often still involved with the community because of troubles with his family and many conflicts with Roman.
