Russell T Davies, OBE (born Stephen Russell Davies, 27 April 1963), is a Welsh television producer and writer born in Wales. He is known for controversial drama serials such as Queer as Folk and The Second Coming and Casanova, and for spearheading the successful revival of the popular science-fiction television series Doctor Who, and creating its spin-off series Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. In 2007 and 2008 he wrote a book with journalist Benjamin Cook called Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale, based on their e-mail correspondence during production of the show, from February 2007 to March 2008.
