Grace and the team combine efforts to hunt down a killer, but their success is met with the tragic death of a well-regarded policeman. The death weighs heavy on Grace and forces her to confront her mortality issues. Meanwhile, death-row inmate Leon is allowed time with his own issues, but he must deal with the possibility that his ex-wife’s boyfriend will end up adopting his son.
