Semi-Pro is an upcoming 2008 comedy film currently in production. It tells the story of Jackie Moon, the owner-coach-player of the American Basketball Association's Flint Michigan Tropics, and how he rallies his teammates to make their NBA dreams come true... The film will be directed by Kent Alterman and star Will Ferrell, Andre 3000, Will Arnett, Woody Harrelson, Maura Tierney, David Koechner, and Nick Brambila. The movie was shot in Los Angeles near Dodger Stadium (in the gym of the Los Angeles City Fire Department Training Center), and in Detroit and Flint, Michigan. It is scheduled for release on February 29, 2008.

No Country For People Who Don't Find This Movie Funny

This movie is pretty funny. That dude that said this movie was not at all funny should watch No Country For Old Men. He would learn that psychotic people don't find anything funny. Also, if you want to know what psychotic people think of movies...

Ridiculous

Whoever the moron is that typed the earlier one was a moron. Semi-Pro is very funny about a 4 out of 5, good enough to see in a Matinee but not good enough to see in the night time. I guess the guy just doesn't like Bears or Washing Machines. Stop...

Will Ferrell stars in "Semi-Pro," an outrageous comedy set in 1976 against the backdrop of the maverick ABA, a fast-paced, wild and crazy basketball league that rivaled the NBA and made a name for itself with innovations like the three-point shot and slam dunk contest. Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, a one-hit wonder who used the profits from the success of his chart-topping song 'Love Me Sexy' to achieve his dream of owning a basketball team. But Moon's franchise, the Flint Michigan Tropics, is the worst team in the league and in danger of folding when the ABA announces its plans to merge with the NBA. If they want to survive, Jackie and the Tropics must now do the seemingly impossible, win. This is how he installs himself as the owner-coach-player and power forward to carry the Tropics to their dreams...
