Dullahan depicts Japan’s warring states period as a time when warriors fought in power suits and mecha rather than conventional samurai armor. Visual novel group Ra-Sen developed the Dullahan concept in 2008. The concept then won first place in the Sendai-Miyagi Animation Contest that October.
