Watch Kristin Davis' 'Sex And The City' Nightmare Sketch Come True

Can you imagine how many times a day Kristin Davis is forced to tell someone, "You're totally a Charlotte" or defend "Sex and the City 2"? Too many.     Well, the Australian morning show "Sunrise" probably just ruined the possibility of a third "SATC" movie for the rest of us, when they compelled Davis to participate in the worst reenactment of a classic scene from the series -- the post-it note breakup -- complete with the an unforgivably horrendous Carrie wig.     Read More...     http://feeds.huffingtonpost.com/c/35496/f/677094/s/4d848833/sc/15/l/0L0Shuffingtonpost0N0C20A160C0A20C110Ckristin0Edavis0Esex0Eand0Ethe0Ecity0Enightmare0In0I920A94260Bhtml0Dutm0Ihp0Iref0Ftv0Gir0FTV/story01.htm

Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw Wasn't Supposed to End Up With Mr. Big

For anyone who thought Carrie Bradshaw's (Sarah Jessica Parker) marriage to Mr. Big (Chris Noth) was a betrayal of what the show was about, you're not alone. In a recent Kindle Singles interview, series creator Darren Starr said that, in his prime position, he had to give up some power if he wanted the writer's room to be a collaborative environment. "At a certain point, you've got to let [the writers] follow their vision. But I think the show ultimately betrayed what it was about, which was that women don't ultimately find happiness from marriage. Not that they can't. But the show initially was going off script from the romantic comedies that had come before it. That's what had made women so attached."    Read More... http://www.vulture.com/2016/01/carrie-wasnt-supposed-to-end-up-with-mr-big.html

Here Are All the Ways Abortions on TV Don't Reflect Reality

Television is, of course, fake, but it can provide an opportunity to consider controversial topics like abortion in a comfortable, fictional setting. Yet, as researchers with the University of California, San Francisco, group Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health found, abortion on TV is often unlike abortion in real life and the mismatch could affect how people perceive women who terminate pregnancies. For a study published in the journal Contraception , researchers looked at depictions of abortion on all U.S. television shows (including networks, premium channels, and streaming services) from 2005 to 2014 and identified 78 plotlines where characters considered abortion, including 40 where a woman had one. They found that women on TV who had abortions were younger, whiter, wealthier , and less likely to already have children than the average American woman who ends a pregnancy. Read More...
