Laura Berman, LCSW, Ph.D., an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry and obstetrics/gynecology at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, has been working as a sex educator and therapist for 18 years and is considered a thought leader in her field. She has appeared in the pages of nearly every major publication and on radio and television, including the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today show, Fox News, CNN, the New York Times, USA Today, Glamour, Elle, and Ladies' Home Journal. Dr. Berman is also a regular contributor on the Today Show, giving viewers advice about sex and relationships in a TV segment and column, "In the Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman."

Dr. Berman is a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and coauthor of the New York Times best seller For Women Only: A Revolutionary Guide to Overcoming Sexual Dysfunction and Reclaiming Your Sex Life and Secrets of the Sexually Satisfied Woman: Ten Keys to Unlocking Ultimate Pleasure. Her latest book, The Passion Prescription, was released by Hyperion in February 2006.

After obtaining a master's degree in Clinical Social Work and a doctorate in Health Education and Therapy (specializing in human sexuality) at New York University, Dr. Berman went on to complete a training fellowship in Sexual Therapy in the Department of Psychiatry at New York University Medical Center.

Dr. Berman is also the director of the Sexual Health State-of-the-Art series, an accredited program for the Council of Continuing Medical Education, and she currently serves on the foundation board of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality. She is a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists and the National Association of Social Workers. Dr. Berman has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors, including the Israel Cancer Research Fund's Women of Action Award, The National Association of Women Business Owners' Rising Star of the Year Award, and the Los Angeles Business Journal's Women Who Make a Difference Award.

Dr. Laura Berman has been working as a sex educator and therapist for more than a decade. She currently is a clinical assistant professor of OBGYN and psychiatry at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University directs the Berman Center in Chicago, a state-of-the-art facility that?s dedicated to helping women and their partners repair their sex lives and achieve their maximum sexual potential. She also is co-director of The Network for Excellence in Women?s Sexual Health (NEWSHE and its website, www.newshe.com).

In addition, Dr. Berman is a "resident" sex expert on Good Morning America, and hosts Berman and Berman: For Women Only on the Discovery Health Channel. She co-authored the best-selling book, "For Women Only: A Revolutionary Guide to Overcoming Sexual Dysfunction and Reclaiming Your Sex Life" with her sister, Dr. Jennifer Berman, a board-certified urologist. Considered a thought leader in her field, Dr. Berman has appeared in nearly every major publication, newspaper, radio and television show, including Oprah, CNN, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Fitness, Redbook, and Ladies' Home Journal.
