Singing Bee Summary
NBC's Singing Bee premiered July 10, 2007 at 9:30/8:30c hosted by Joey Fatone, former singer of N Sync. Singing Bee brings together the typical spelling bee with the ever-popular karaoke singing, so that contestants are not tested on spelling words, but remembering lyrics to popular songs as they're singing karaoke. It competes with Fox's Don't Forget the Lyrics! which premiered the following night, July 11, 2007. Because Don't Forget the Lyrics! planned to premier in July, NBC pushed Singing Bee to premier earlier than the planned fall 2007 premier.
