'So You Think You Can Dance' changes elimination format after fan reaction

"So You Think You Can Dance" is changing its elimination format after a very negative fan reaction. Executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe tweeted the news on Friday (July 5).Instead of starting the show with eliminations, "So You Think You Can Dance" will announce a Bottom 6 at the beginning, save two of the dancers (the judges' choice) and then make the Bottom 4 wait until the end of the show before dancing for their lives. Each episode will then end with an elimination.It was the first elimination of "SYTYCD" Season 10 that created the controversy. Right at the beginning of the two-hour broadcast, the judges announced the Bottom 6, saved two dancers and then forced the remaining four to dance for their lives. The judges saved two dancers, Makenzie Dustman and Alan Bersten, from the bottom six. Then, Mariah Spears, Brittany Cherry, Carlos Garland and Jade Zuberi had to dance for their lives.
