Season 3, Episode 4 - "The Second Stain"
The prime minister asks Holmes to investigate the disappearance of a letter which could lead to a major European catastrophe. Unfortunately, completion of the task requires him to jeopardise a titled lady's reputation - something he is naturally reluctant to do.
