'The Amazing Race' wins gazillionth Emmy

"The Amazing Race" just picked up its ninth Emmy for best reality competition tonight (Sept. 23). Since the category was created in 2003, "TAR" has lost only once, to "Top Chef" in 2010. Only Phil Keoghan, nominated four times in the Emmy competition for reality host, has yet to win the individual trophy for greeting racers on the finishers mat with his signature raised brow. The CBS competition, created by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster, launched in 2001. It features two-person teams racing around the world for a million dollars. That prize will be doubled, to 2 million dollars, for the 21st season, which premieres this fall. Season 21 of "The Amazing Race" debuts Sunday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. on CBS....

Amazing Race's Rachel and Dave: It Was a Relief to Win After Our Mistake

Dave and Rachel Brown made history on The Amazing Race 20 , claiming the $1 million for a franchise record eighth victory on Sunday's finale — but not before making some other dubious history. The married Army couple accidentally skipped a second Roadblock and arrived at the finish line, where they became the first team ever to be turned back by Phil Keoghan for not completing the final course. They managed to recover and officially win the Race . "Can we say we won it twice? I said on the show last night, we had eight and a half wins since we went there once," Dave tells "It was such a great feeling when we got back the second time knowing we did it correctly and realizing that we were still first." TV ratings: 'Once Upon a Time' and 'Desperate Housewives' top Sunday in adults 18-49

Fast National ratings for Sunday, May 6, 2012The season finale of "The Amazing Race" helped CBS win the total-viewer race in Sunday's ratings, but ABC scored a demographic win thanks to "Once Upon a Time" and "Desperate Housewives," which improved significantly in its second-to-last week on the air.CBS averaged 9.3 million viewers and a 5.7 rating/9 share in households for the night, beating out ABC's 7.8 million, 4.6/8. NBC (5.8 million, 3.8/6) came in third. FOX trailed with 4.1 million viewers and a 2.3/4.ABC led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.4 rating. CBS came in second with a 2.0, just beating FOX's 1.9. NBC drew a 1.3 for fourth....
