Close Shave For Mark And Bopper On 'The Amazing Race'

The latest leg of " The Amazing Race " (sun., 8 p.m. ET on CBS) saw the return of fan favorite challenge, the head shave. Best friends Bopper and Mark were in last place in India so opted to chase the Fast Forward pass as their only real way of staying in the race. The price of the Fast Forward was to have their heads shaved. Longtime "TAR" viewers will, of course, remember Season 7 racers -- and eventual champs -- Joyce and Uchenna having their heads shaved in India for the Fast Forward all the way back in 2005. As the barbers went to work, Mark joked to Bopper that "you don't look as good as me, but you look good, bro." So, did the close shave pay off for the Kentuckians? In a word, no. After narrowly dodging elimination for several legs they were again the last to arrive on the mat. "You are the last team to arrive," said Phil Keoghan , "and I'm very sorry to tell you that you've been eliminated from the race." They took it pretty well and Bopper said that being on the race had opened his eyes. "I had no idea what I was missing out on," he told Phil. TV ratings: 'Once Upon a Time' leads Sunday in 18-49; FOX anniversary special not a big draw

Fast National ratings for Sunday, April 22, 2012Not a whole lot of people joined FOX in celebrating its 25th anniversary, with the special's ratings coming in lower than a typical Sunday's ratings for the network. As has been the case for the past few weeks, ratings on the whole were rather soft; CBS led the night in viewers, while "Once Upon a Time" scored the night's top 18-49 numbers (although it too was below average).CBS averaged 9.9 million viewers and a 6.3 rating/10 share in households in primetime, beating out ABC's 7.5 million and 4.6/7. NBC (6.3 million, 4.0/6) came in third, and FOX trailed with 3.9 million viewers and a 2.2/4.ABC and CBS tied for the lead among adults 18-49, but they each scored only a 1.9 rating in the demographic. FOX's 1.7 was good for third, while NBC drew a 1.5.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/tv-ratings-once-upon-a-time-leads-sunday-in-18-49-fox-anniversary-special-not-a-big-draw.html

'The Amazing Race': Bollywood Dance Too Much For The Men

On a trip to India, a Bollywood style challenge proved a huge difference for the men of " The Amazing Race " (Sun., 8 p.m. ET on CBS). Of the five remaining teams, two of them are pairs of men, and it was those two teams that struggled the most with a challenge that had them join a Bollywood dance troupe and learn a routine. But no one struggled as much as Mark, who came to this challenge after getting severe motion sickness on a bus ride there. He struggled with his stomach and the heat as he tried over and over again. Finally, after all the teams had gone, his best friend Bopper came up to him and suggested they just call it a day. He didn't want to risk losing his friend to a heat stroke or worse. But after cooling down and calming down a bit, they vowed to finish this leg of the race with their heads held high. They would serve as an inspirational example to their children. And they were indeed the last team to hit the mat, but for the second time this season, they did so on a non-elimination leg. Somehow, those Kentucky boys find a way to keep on racing. TV ratings: 'NYC 22' has a so-so premiere as CBS wins a quiet Sunday

Fast National ratings for Sunday, April 15, 2012The series premiere of "NYC 22" pulled in a decent number of viewers for CBS Sunday, but its adults 18-49 rating (1.5) was pretty soft and well below what "CSI: Miami" averaged in the same timeslot earlier in the season. On the upside for the new show -- kind of, anyway -- is the fact that nothing on broadcast TV Sunday drew all that well among the coveted 18-49 demographic. None of the four networks even broke the 2.0 mark in primetime.CBS led the night's overall race with 9.7 million viewers and a 6.2 rating/10 share in households. NBC (6.5 million, 4.2/7) came in second. ABC scored 4.8 million viewers and a 3.0/5 to finish third, beating out FOX (3.8 million, 2.2/4).CBS also topped the 18-49 demo, albeit with just a 1.8 rating. FOX (1.7) and NBC (1.6) were close behind, and ABC brought up the rear with... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/tv-ratings-nyc-22-has-a-so-so-premiere-as-cbs-wins-a-quiet-sunday.html

'The Amazing Race': Double U-Turn Means Twice The Whining

A Double U-Turn on " The Amazing Race " (Sun., 8 p.m. ET on CBS) created all kinds of unexpected drama. Art & J.J. felt betrayed after finding out that a team ahead of them didn't use the U-Turn, while Brendon & Rachel felt betrayed because they were U-Turned. That said, Brendon knew going into the leg that it was going to happen. They'd simply created too many enemies on the race, so he told Rachel to prepare for it, and they would just power through. Power through with more whining frustration from Rachel, the former "Big Brother" winner. Dave was upset that he and Rachel came in narrowly second, breaking a two-leg win streak, but it was nothing to how Art & J.J. felt about Dave & Rachel not U-Turning Team "Big Brother" as they'd all agreed on. Dave & Rachel chose not to create bad blood because Nary and Jamie were so far behind, but the not-teachers managed to close the gap. Unfortunately, the Speed Bump was the difference and they fell short, and saw their journey come to an end. Five teams remain as "The Amazing Race" continues Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. Amazing Race's Joey "Fitness" and Danny: We Regret Taking the Fast Forward

For the first time in seven seasons on The Amazing Race , there was a battle for a Fast Forward. And just like in Season 13, the losers this time — Joey "Fitness" Lasalla and Danny Horal — ultimately got eliminated. "We just really wanted first place," Joey tells TVGuide.com. "If we didn't do the Fast Forward, I think we would've come in second, third or fourth, but we did it and we have to live with it." The friends say they "100 percent" regret going for it in hindsight, but know they were beaten by Dave and Rachel fair and square. See what else they have to say about their final leg, how close they were to winning the Fast Forward and why they're so much more than a Jersey Shore stereotype. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Amazing-Race-Joey-Fitness-Danny-1045309.aspx?rss=breakingnews
