TBBT s02e15 - The Maternal Capacitance

This TBBT is goooooooood! You get to see Leonard's mum! I was wondering when that would happen, coz we've already seen Sheldon's mum, Raj's parents and i'm quite happy with just hearing Walowitz's mum shout in the background... seeing her does scare me a little. :)

Videos (Megavideo in particular)

I have a theory that, the more popular a show/episode, the more links and more possibility of watching it. However, if the show when the show starts, if it doesn't get enough publicity, there is next to no links at all. If it gets popular enough later on, more links can appear but for a show like the Big Bang Theory, that has not happened yet. If you look at the first episode, there are three links. One which says there is an internet connection problem, one which is Amazon, and only works in the USA and the iTunes which also only works in the USA. There are many useless links in TV show episodes, which require you to be in the USA or to have another version of a player. So in the end, there are four options for watching a show. There is Youku which usually works but takes a while to load, is somewhat difficult to find and sometimes jut stops the loading in the middle or, mysteriously, always at an important bit. Tudou which, while it loads faster, has a smaller screen and blurs if you click fullscreen. The random websites which work and Megavideo which has always helped us in the past but now threatens to let us completely down. If you have not been on for quite a long time, you will find that Megavideo will let you watch the show or any other sshow it has. But after 72 minutes, it will stop and won't show you where you were up to or the time. Instead a box appears on the screen telling you that you have watched 72 minutes and you must wait 30 minutes or create an account which you pay for, every month. After a while it will get longer. Though this could be useful for stopping people spend all their living hours watching television online, it is extremely annoying if you are watching a movie or you haven't been on all day and 8 or so minutes into a show, it stops because another person in your family has been watching their favourite show as well. So this is not only a rant about the unfairness of technology which shows the shows you want to watch at times when you CAN'T watch it and the internet or your location doesn't allow you to see it instead, but a cry for someone, who has 'great knowledge' of the internet and can get more, workable, links up so us normal people can sit back, relax and watch something for once. Seriously, someone do us all a favour and go to the head of Megavideo, take out a gun and shoot him in the foot as an example of how much pain we are in without our videos, to show him how it feels for us not to be able to watch those wonderful shows like The Office, Bones, House, Pushing Daisies and the Big Bang Theory. Either that or get more Youku and Tudou links up for us.

sound and video syncing (sic)

Does anyone else have a problem with the sound and image not syncing during BBT? The start of each episode looks okay but as it goes on it gets worse and worse and by the end there's a 3-5 second difference between the sound and the image. I watch a bunch of other shows ad don't have this problem is it simply the source for BBT or what?

Question about Klingon Boggle....

I was watching episode 7 of season 2 (Which I love) and the Klingon Boggle scene really got me thinking....... Are there any Star Trek fans (and I mean BIG Star Trek fans, the ones that actually know Klingon language :P ) that can confirm that what they "thought up" were true and what they actually mean?...

I hate Megaupload

Since when is there a limit of time to watch megavideo content? And why cant you ffw? I'm getting tired of megaupload and other pages that take ages to charge and then just stop mid way, also half the links usually dont work. What's going on? Will I ever finish watching Chuck E6S1?

Should Tiny URLs be banned?

Recently When I visited Two and a half men page for the season 6 premiere, All I can see is that half of the links are for the same site and same link. They were posted with the help of different tiny URL sites. I think posting same link with the help of different tiny URLs is a way of spamming. It's very annoying to get the same link one after another. It's a waste of time. I think use of tiny URLs should be banned. What do you think? Give your opinion.

My apologies

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear. I'm sorry everyone, but I've actually managed to out-dork the Big Bang Theory on not one, but two counts. I've just started rewatching the series, and: The Luminous Fish Effect: The luminous jellyfish gene Sheldon mentions is almost certainly GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein), which isn't luminous, but rather flourescent. The fish at the end looks like it's had a luciferase inserted instead, a protein (usually) from fireflies which makes light from cellular energy. The bit where Wolfowitz and Raj are trying to convince Sheldon that he's a robot: The third of Asimov's laws is that the robot must forrow human orders, except where doing so would force it to break the other two laws. So, obviously, Sheldon isn't a robot. Again, I'm sorry. If you've noticed anything else, tell the world (or at least the part of the world that reads obscure discussions on SideReel) and make me feel better
