The Biggest Loser Season 14 Premiere Review – Jillian’s Back!

The Biggest Loser  returned this week, with Jillian Michaels along for the journey in the show’s 14th season. Bob and Dolvett also returned to round out the group of trainers. It was a fitting time for Jillian to return, as the show shifted its focus this season to childhood obesity. Those familiar with Michaels’ background know that the trainer struggled with her own weight issues as a teenager. Three child contestants joined show in the premiere – Sunny (16), Noah (13) and Lindsay (13). Unlike the adult contestants, the teens will do most of their work at home, only spending limited time on the ranch. They will have regular check-ins with their trainers and immunity for the full season. I think taking the focus off the competitiveness and gamesmanship of  The Biggest Loser  for the teens by limiting their ranch time and giving them immunity is a good idea. It helps underscore the show’s commitment to tackling childhood obesity. Read More...
