The Borgias Is "Hell Bent" for Season 3

The Borgias is back, and TVGuide.com has your first look at the "hellish" Season 3 art. Photos: Bad guys we root for The new season, which premieres on April 14 at 10/9c on Showtime, features a Pope Alexander ( Jeremy Irons ) who is "hell bent," as the poster would say, on getting rid of anyone in the Vatican who might be disloyal to him after his nearly fatal assassination attempt last year. After staring mortality in the face, Pope Alexander is also dead-set on establishing a hereditary monarchy to rule with his son, Cesare ( François Arnaud ).   Read More... http://www.tvguide.com/News/Borgias-Season-Preview-1060827.aspx?rss=breakingnews

‘The Borgias’ Season 3 Trailer: Can Only “A Borgia Love A Borgia”?

“It seems only a Borgia can love Borgia.” The sinfully good season three trailer  for Showtime’s  The Borgias  hints that there could be a very literal interpretation of that line awaiting us this year. After two seasons of establishing the close bond (and insane chemistry) between Borgia siblings Lucrezia (Holliday Grainger) and Cesare (Francois Arnaud), the promo strongly hints that the duo’s relationship might finally take on a carnal nature. “It is a game of want and wanting,” Lucrezia tells her brother. The question is will they give in? READ MORE...

The Borgias Exclusive: François Arnaud Teases New Cesare In Season Finale

"I can assure you that Cesare's drive and anger isn't diminished in any way," François Arnaud assured me over the phone earlier this week.  The star of The Borgias went on to say that his character, after murdering his brother Juan last Sunday, has "grown into the warrior that he will be." Arnaud said that Cesare killing Juan "was a beautiful moment."  Although it was indeed the horrible act of one brother gutting the other, Arnaud believed "there is that final embrace that I think helps letting go in a way." The Borgias Exclusive: David Oakes on Juan Borgia's Rise and Fall

"The last thing I did on The Borgias , was literally throw myself off a bridge," David Oakes reminisced on Monday afternoon.  One of the stars of the Showtime series, Oakes' run as troublesome brother Juan Borgia was fantastic, but it sadly came to an end with the character's inevitable death on Sunday's penultimate episode of the year. It was a moment that Oakes knew was coming. "I always knew I was going to die in season two," he said. "That was never in doubt, but I didn't know when I was going to die." After Juan's failure at Forli, and his subsequent syphilis, gangrenous leg, and opium addiction, everyone saw this character's end in sight.  As Oakes says, "There really wasn't much keeping him alive." The Borgias Season Finale Sneak Peeks: Lucrezia and Rodrigo Face Off

The Borgia family has managed to survive a pretty tremendous amount of conflict in the first two seasons of The Borgias . Enemies have been dispatched, alliances have been formed, and every inter-family squabble has been swept under Rodrigo's papal robe in favor of presenting a united front and preserving the family. But that inability to face their problems and worry about their image vs. their reality has made the second season of The Borgias quite a tense affair, culminating in the shocking murder of Juan at the end of the last episode. Can The Borgia family manage to get through their hardest time yet and emerge mostly in tact? Judging by the sneak peeks of next week's season finale, titled "The Confession", they may not be able to bounce back quite as quickly as they have in the past. Lucrezia's last confrontation with Juan only solidified her burning hatred for her brother, which had been ignited for good upon Paolo's death, and she can't quite bring herself to mourn for him. Rodrigo isn't having any of that, of course, as Juan was his favorite child and his death dashed any dreams he had of one son in armor and another in the cloth. Lucrezia has been growing away from her father during the second season of The Borgias , defying him regarding the recent marriage proposals, and this is further proof that the two may not be able to see eye to eye ever again. The Borgias Sneak Peeks: The Pope Has a New Taster and a Wild Son

Juan Borgia is pretty much falling apart right now. He has a bum leg, a venereal disease, no allies, and no duty, as Rodrigo stripped him of his military responsibility on last night's episode. He's on the edge of doing something even more heinous than his past actions, one more slight enough to turn the knife from his enemies to himself. How does The Borgias handle a character this close to ending it all? By having his brother put back in charge of him. With his high hopes for Juan becoming an asset dashed once again, Rodrigo has put Cesare in the role of brother's keeper, responsible for making sure Juan doesn't fly even more off the handle and do irreparable damage to himself, his family, and the Chair of Saint Peter. It's almost poetic, really, considering the fact that Juan tried to throw Cesare under the bus for the Forli attack's mishandling. Now the more responsibly Borgia brother, himself eager to assume Juan's position as a military figure, has to put pride aside and aid his father in his quest to stop the political bleeding. But will he? Read More... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/0aRyTD-iC2Q/
