Historian Predicts Obama Will Be Reelected Despite Midterm Election Results (VIDEO)

'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on COM) partnered with 'The Colbert Report' for 'Indecision 2010' on election night, offering viewers live coverage of the midterm results. Jon Stewart noted that it's standard practice for the nation's ruling party to "lose some seats" in midterm elections. However, presidential historian Michael Beschloss admitted they don't usually lose this many seats. But if history repeats itself, he had some good news for President Obama. "The three presidents in recent times who have had midterm loss like this have been Truman, Eisenhower, Bill Clinton. Every single one of them got reelected." "So your thought is, 'What a great night for Barack Obama!'" joked Stewart. Source & Video

President Obama nabs 'The Daily Show' an extra million viewers

President Obama's visit to "The Daily Show," a first for a sitting president, was good for 2.8 million viewers, which is about a million more than the show usually earns, according to the New York Times. Comedy Central has reported that it was the third-highest-rated episode of the news satire show, behind then-candidate Barack Obama appearing on the show in October 2008 and his wife Michelle Obama's appearance that same month. "The Daily Show" audience has steadily been right around 1.87 million viewers over the last three years. Did you watch President Obama's sit down with Jon Stewart? Source Here

Top Moments: Ellen and Becks Play Pranks and Modern Family's Gloria Tells It Like It Isn't

Our favorite moments of the TV week: 12. Hardest-to-Root-For Good Guy: On Boardwalk Empire, agent Van Alden's creepy crush on Margaret Schroeder takes on a quasi-religious bent this week. As the pious prohibitionist looks longingly at a file photo of Margaret, he flogs himself with a leather belt. A topography of scars on his back reveals that this isn't the first time he's had to punish himself for impure thoughts. 11. Most Recycled Storyline:   Kevin and Scotty, Brothers & Sisters' most beloved and functional couple, are dealt a blow when Scotty — almost out of nowhere — admits to his husband that he cheated on him a few months ago. This is, like, the 17th time infidelity has struck the Walker clan. Combined with Sarah's paranoia that Luc is cheating on her, it's time to come up with something new, writers. 10. Best Shout-Out: While discussing potential baby names with Marshall on How I Met Your Mother, Lily offers "Tara" as her first choice — a wink-wink to Alyson Hannigan's Buffy the Vampire Slayer lover/fellow witch Tara Maclay. Too bad Marshall rejects it. 9. Best Subject-Changer: Last week on The Big C, Paul learned that Cathy was cheating on him, which led him to ask for a divorce. This week, Paul cheats on Cathy with "the rugby slut" out of spite, but instead of making her angry, it makes her realize that it's finally time for her to tell him that she has terminal cancer — which she does, just before the episode fades to black. Hail to the Comedian-in-Chief!

. In his first sitdown with a current Chief Exec, Stewart walked a fine line between respect and irreverence — and never lost sight of the Comedy in Comedy Central, even though the Prez was not in a jokey mood. Dispensing with any opening shtick, he brought Obama out immediately and let the show run several minutes longer than usual (to the dismay of some DVR users). Stewart was critical of the President and his party — "The Democrats seem to be running on 'Please, baby, one more chance' — and got Obama's ire up on more than one occasion. "You ran with such, if I may, audacity... yet legislatively it has felt timid at times," the host chided, leading his guest to respond, "This is something we have a profound disagreement on." Obama Appearing on Daily Show

President Barack Obama will appear on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart next week ahead of the midterm elections and Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity. Obama will tape his appearance on Oct. 27, three days before Stewart's rally on the National Mall, White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer said. The president has previously endorsed Stewart's event, a joint venture with Stephen Colbert that was created in response to Glenn Beck's rally in August. This will be Obama's first appearance on The Daily Show since entering office. He last appeared just before the presidential elections in 2008. Source Here

Condoleezza Rice Addresses Nation's 'Extreme Voices' Against Islam (VIDEO)

When Condoleezza Rice visited 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on COM), Jon Stewart brought up the "vitriolic" shift among America's "extreme voices" since the September 11 attacks, mentioning that President Bush "came out very strongly that we were not at war with Islam." What did Rice make of the current, "more vitriolic approach to Islam or Muslims?" "There's a lot of a turning up the volume of a few extreme voices on this issue," answered Rice. "I don't believe that most Americans are in any sense Islamophobic ... When you give a voice to very extreme people, it gives a sense that the United States is the country that it is not." "Like if they had their own channel," joked Stewart. "Or maybe their own rallies," countered Rice. Source & Video

Former President Jimmy Carter Is Not Into Witchcraft, But Not Against Something Else (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart has had some of the world's most important people sit opposite him on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM on COM). Normally he is able to handle himself with humility and grace, but it looks like former President Jimmy Carter catches him off guard. The conversation started off innocently enough, with Jimmy Carter comparing his own 1976 Presidential run to the current momentum experienced by the Tea Party. "I ran against the establishment," he explained. "I ran against a Washington that was in disgrace [due to the Watergate scandal]. So people were looking for somebody outside, like the Tea Party is now, and I filled that role." To Read More Click Here .

Sigourney Weaver on the Curse of Being Too Tall (VIDEO)

Sigourney Weaver is a famous actress and occasional international sex symbol. But still, she has her insecurities, as we all do. Luckily, Jon Stewart is the perfect person to confide in. So on the latest 'Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), Sigourney reveals all her problems to a sympathetic ear. First, Weaver confesses that she wasn't very popular in high school. Honestly, though, this is probably a good thing. Our premise is that anyone who ends up being cool later on in life wasn't actually "cool" in high school. But this is just a working theory. Jon Stewart Hits on Jon Hamm (VIDEO)

Jon, meet Jon. 'Man Men' star and all-around "dreamboat" Jon Hamm was the guest on 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Comedy). And host Jon Stewart seemed more than a little smitten. "I'm going to begin on an embarrassing note," Stewart said. Oh great. The comedian went on to mention how all couples get one "free pass" in a relationship. Well, for Stewart and his wife, apparently Jon Hamm is that "free pass." Not for Stewart's wife -- but for Stewart himself. With that little "note" out of the way, the host apparently felt free to flirt to his heart's content. Hamm seemed okay-ish with the whole thing, though he did slightly hedge his bets: "That's going to make the rest of this interview, uh, 'interesting,' to say the least." To Read More Click Here .

Drew Barrymore Loves Jon Stewart, and Might Still Love Justin Long (VIDEO)

Actress Drew Barrymore was the guest on the new 'Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central). And while she was on the show, Ms. Barrymore took a little time out to discuss her love life (sort of). Drew is currently appearing in the film 'Going the Distance,' and her co-star is none other than her on-again, off-again, and maybe on-again boyfriend Justin Long. Host Jon Stewart seemed a little confused as to whether Drew and Justin were still dating -- but that's okay. A lot of other people are confused about that too. For her part, Drew remained coy, saying this about Justin: "I may be [dating him]. I may not be! I don't know!" Honestly, she really did seem like she didn't know, so maybe the celebrity couple are just going through a weird time right now. Drew was clear about one issue, though. She's totally into Jon Stewart. "I love you," she said. "I love what you do, I love what you're all about; you just get better and better." Stewart seemed to blush slightly in response to this praise. The actress then made a reference to Jon having "five penises" -- which is probably not totally anatomically accurate, but it did make Jon Stewart crack up. Source & Video
