A chronicle of the life of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, who reviled for her extravagant political and personal lives. |||| Make-up and hair design, both significant in a Georgian-set period piece, are by Daniel Phillips. The Duchess was filmed at Twickenham Film Studios and on-location at Chatsworth, Bath and Kedleston Hall.

Originally to be directed by Susanne Bier, The Duchess was directed by Saul Dibb. The film stars Keira Knightley as Georgiana and Ralph Fiennes as her husband. The film is financed by BBC Films and Pathe.
