'Argo' Wins Best Picture Drama

The big winners of the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards have been announced and "Argo" took the title of Best Motion Picture - Drama. The films up for Best Motion Picture - Drama were "Argo," Django Unchained," "Life of Pi," "Lincoln," and "Zero Dark Thirty." Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" led this year's Golden Globes with the most nominations. The film was nominated for seven awards: Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Original Score. Both "Argo" and "Django Unchained" were nominated for a total of five awards, while "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Life of Pi" received four and three nominations, respectively. "Girls" won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy or Musical at the 2013 award ceremony on Sunday, January 13. The other nominees included "The Big Bang Theory," "Episodes," "Modern Family," and "Smash." The controversial series was nominated for its first season on HBO, but the second season of " Girls " premiered on the same night of the Golden Globes were handed out. So much for Oscar snubs. Ben Affleck won his second Best Director prize in the past four days, adding a Golden Globe award to his Critics Choice win from Thursday night."I don't care what the award is," Affleck said in his Globes acceptance speech. "When they put your name next to the names [Halle Berry] just read off it's an extraordinary thing."
