'The Good Wife' vs. 'Housewives' and 5 other fall timeslot battles

Another upfront season has ended, and now the real work begins: strategizing how to program the DVR once the season starts. Now that the broadcast networks have set their schedules, we can start to look at some potentially intriguing watch-record dilemmas come fall. We haven't seen full versions of any of the new shows yet, of course, but we're seeing several possible ratings dogfights among both new and returning series. Here are a few of them.Mondays at 8: Family feudThere's no reason to think "Dancing With the Stars" will lose its iron grip on the time period, but the race for second could be pretty interesting as a couple other shows vie with "Dancing" for family audiences. FOX will undoubtedly put a huge marketing push behind "Terra Nova," and NBC is hoping a weekly version of "The Sing-Off" will do as well as its limited run did last December. Like "DWTS," they're both aiming for broad... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/the-good-wife-vs-housewives-and-5-other-fall-timeslot-battles.html

'The Good Wife,' 'CSI' get new nights: The thinking behind CBS' moves

In talking up "The Good Wife's" move to Sunday nights next season, CBS executives used some form of the word "prestige" four times within the space of a couple minutes."We're saying our most prestigious show is on our most prestigious night," is how CBS Primetime senior exec VP Kelly Kahl described the move, noting that "The Good Wife" will be preceded by the venerable "60 Minutes" and multiple Emmy winner "The Amazing Race." "'The Good Wife' has a big core following -- and I don't mean 6 million people who watch and are very dedicated; there are about 12 million people watching. We know they'll follow the show to Sunday night. ..."This is a quality night. It's where people put their quality shows, and at the top of our quality list is 'The Good Wife.'"The show's move is one of three noteworthy schedule changes CBS made with veteran series for 2011-12 (the full schedule is... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/the-good-wife-csi-get-new-nights-the-thinking-behind-cbs-moves.html

The Aftermath The Good Wife Creators Reflect on Finale, Look Ahead to Next Season

The Good Wife season finale, “Closing Arguments,” certainly finished out the spring campaign on a buzz-worthy note, as Alicia and Will finally got together. 'Good Wife's' Josh Charles: 'There's a deep love there' for Alicia

The "Good Wife" Season 2 finale saw Will and Alicia finally acknowledge their bad timing and appear to indulge in having some good timing for once. The writers certainly left themselves room to have them not consummate their relationship. Star Josh Charles tells Zap2it that Will and Alicia aren't exactly heading straight for domestic bliss."Whether they're in for the long haul or not remains to be seen," says Charles. But while it may not be an instant match made in heaven, Charles does acknowledge that Alicia is one of the best things in Will's life."It may be one of the truest things that he has. I think there's a deep love there on his part," says Charles. "It's conflicted because of all the dynamics, certainly. Boss-employer, she's married with kids, the past, all these different things. Opening himself up to the vulnerability. Alicia represents a lot of things to him, but I do think there... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/good-wifes-josh-charles-theres-a-deep-love-there-for-alicia.html

'Good Wife's' Josh Charles: 'We'll learn a lot' in the season finale

"The Good Wife" wraps Season 2 Tuesday night (May 17) in a finale that we have already seen by the previews should prove to be explosive. Star Josh Charles, the suave Will Gardner on the show, tells Zap2it about the finale - specifically, about what is in store for Alicia and Will."I do think where this will end up at the end of the season will really position us for the beginning of next season and where we take it. We'll learn a lot," teases Charles. "For better or worse, I believe where we go at the end of this season - not just with Will and Alicia, but everything - really set us up in a really nice way for next year."Charles also likens the Will/Alicia risk as the same type of risk executive producers/writers Robert and Michelle King took with the Alicia/Kalinda relationship."I know that Robert and Michelle King care more deeply about... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/good-wifes-josh-charles-well-learn-a-lot-in-the-season-finale.html

Friendships and relationships have come and gone on 'The Good Wife,' but one thing has remained the same over the last two seasons: Will and Alicia's unresolved feelings. The Good Wife Photos & Promo: Season Finale "Closing Arguments"

In tonight's new episode of  The Good Wife , Alicia told Kalinda she knew the truth of her affair with Peter, and it seems like the relationship between the once-close friends is now broken.  But Kalinda - who up and quit Lockhart/Gardner - actually returned to the firm when she found out her new job would have her doing investigations for the State's Attorney's Office (and Peter). The season finale of  The Good Wife  will be airing next week on May 17. The air around Alicia and Kalinda will still be incredibly frosty in the season finale, but they're forced to work together to prove their client - who's been charged with murder - is innocent.  Kelli Giddish will be returning as Sophia Russo, a lawyer with a connection to Kalinda's past. But the big question, now that Alicia is separated from Peter, is what will happen between her and Will.  Is this the right time for the two of them to get together?  And what's in store for the Lockhart/Gardner gang if  The Good Wife  returns next year?  Renewal hasn't been officially announced, but it's likely the show will return.
