TV ratings: Miss America pageant up; 'Sunday Night Football' leads the night

Fast National ratings for Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013The 2014 Miss America pageant saw a big jump from the 2013 numbers -- an average of nearly 1.5 million more viewers over the previous year's ratings. It was the pageant's best numbers since 2004, which is, incidentally, the last time the pageant ran in September. ABC was still in third place, but the competition put up a strong showing against NFL football. NBC won the night on the back of the 49ers-Seahawks game on "Sunday Night Football" with an average of 15.9 million viewers and a 9.4 rating/15 share in households. CBS was second with nearly an hour of NFL runover into primetime, earning 10.3 million viewers and a 6.5/10.
