During the American Revolutionary War, the Headless Horseman was a brave German Hessian soldier who fought for the British. Unfortunately, a cannonball struck off his head in battle, and ever since then his ghost has haunted the road from the graveyard to the battlefield site. It is this dark and gloomy road that Sleepy Hollow schoolmaster Ichabod Crane must take to visit the beautiful Katrina Van Trassel. The clumsy Crane's infatuation with the local heiress has not gone unnoticed by the town bully Brom Bones, who cunningly places obstacles in Crane's way. However, the worst is yet to come when the hapless teacher finds himself face to face with the Headless Horseman himself... "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" was written by Washington Irving over 150 years ago. It remains a true classic and one of the greatest Halloween tales of all time.
