The Real Housewives of D.C. Confirms White House Party Crasher Casting

Michaele and Tareq Salahi are going from the White House's security list to Bravo's A-list. Michaele Salahi is part of the cast of The Real Housewives of D.C., premiering Thursday, Aug. 5 at 9/8c. The latest installment of the Bravo franchise - the fifth following Orange County, New York City, Atlanta and New Jersey - will spotlight Salahi and four other women living in the nation's capital shortly after the election and inauguration of President Barack Obama. "We wanted to dive into the Beltway subculture as it underwent an historic shift, one that previously has not been readily accessible or portrayed, and look at the political hierarchy and definitive social circles that make up D.C.'s unique society," said Andy Cohen, Bravo's senior vice president of original programming and development. Report: White House Crashers Join Real Housewives of D.C.

Tareq and Michaele Salahi, who crashed a party at the White House last year, will star in and become the focal point of Bravo's reality series The Real Housewives of D.C., the Daily Beast reports. The Salahis are best known for gatecrashing a White House event and coming face-to-face President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and many others after the uninvited couple made it past security. The Salahis have maintained that they were invited to the event. The couple was reportedly being filmed as part of their audition for the reality series when they crashed the event. All 12 episodes of the premiere season have been shot and are slated to premiere in July, according to The Daily Beast. An email to the show's rep was not immediately returned. There's no stopping The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney from letting the world know that she's found love yet again in the arms of a new man Eddie Judge, who only happens to be a friend of her estranged husband Simon. The couple was recently spotted on a three-day vacation in Panama where they appeared to be romantically frolicking in the water. Of course, this was all happening in the midst of her divorce. The Real Housewives of Orange County just wrapped up its fifth season but for Gretchen Rossi, the drama is far from over. This week alone, she became the subject of controversy and was served with legal papers right in the middle of a fashion show at The Grove in Los Angeles. Who is suing Gretchen and why? According to Radaronline, Gretchen's ex-lover Jay Photoglou filed the lawsuit against The Real Housewives of Orange County star for libel and slander, among other things. Gretchen was allegedly "intimately involved with Photoglou the entire time the show filmed Rossi's first season," during which she was engaged to Jeff Beitzel, who died in September 2008.
