The Ruins is an upcoming 2008 horror-thriller film directed by Carter Smith and starring Jena Malone and Joe Anderson. It is based upon the best-selling book of the same name by Scott Smith. The story follows a group of friends who become entangled in a brutal struggle for survival after visiting a remote archaeological dig in the Mexican jungle, where they discover something deadly living among the ruins.

The movie was a bit dry. It just kinda got boring after awhile. I lost interest. Though if your in to no plot and a tiny bit of gore, have at it.

Very strange movie that I wanted to see for a while but after seeing it was kind of like "Maaaaaaaan that was kind of lame" but still was entertaining...just not what I expected for the hype.
