Not So Great
The movie was a bit dry. It just kinda got boring after awhile. I lost interest. Though if your in to no plot and a tiny bit of gore, have at it.

Based on the novel by A Simple Plan author Scott Smith, director Carter B. Smith's Yucatan-set thriller follows four American tourists as they unwisely venture off the beaten path while vacationing in Cancun. When a friendly German tourist implores the Americans to help search the jungle for his missing brother, the group becomes hopelessly trapped in a nightmare scenario that seems too strange to be true. "The Ruins" stars Jonathan Tucker ("The Black Donnellys"), Jena Malone ("Pride and Prejudice"), Shawn Ashmore ("X-Men: The Last Stand"), Laura Ramsey ("She's the Man") and Joe Anderson ("Across the Universe"). The film is directed by Carter Smith from a screenplay by Scott B. Smith.

Summary
The Ruins Premiere: April 4, 2008. The Ruins is an upcoming 2008 horror-thriller film directed by Carter Smith and starring Jena Malone and Joe Anderson. It is based upon the best-selling book of the same name by Scott Smith. The story follows a group of friends who become entangled in a brutal struggle for survival after visiting a remote archaeological dig in the Mexican jungle, where they discover something deadly living among the ruins.
