The Simpsons in Space

It's not often I tell you about a spring finale this early, but what Fox's The Simpsons has lined up to cap its 24th season sounds out-of-this-world fun. "We're going to be visiting Kang and Kodos' home planet," teases executive producer Al Jean , who cowrote the episode. "This is the...

'The Simpsons': 'Treehouse of Horror XXIII' pics, plus Homer casts his ballot

"The Simpsons" will air its annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode on Oct. 7 -- the earliest the Halloween anthology has ever aired. Let's take a look at the episode.FOX's pictures from the episode include one showing Homer and Marge as Mayans witnessing the prediction that the world will end in 2012 (our guess: It's the pre-credits bumper).Going back to the past seems to be a theme in "Treehouse XXIII." We'll see a young Marge possibly making a deal with the devil (which also seems to involve Selma and Patty). In another story, Bart time-travels to 1974 so he can buy a comic book at its cover price but ends up interrupting his parents' courtship, a la "Back to the Future." It results in a whole bunch of Homers piling up in the present, and also probably explains Artie Ziff's presence on the poster. Also, the Springfield Supercollider malfunctions, creating a black hole that sucks all of Springfield...

'Sherlock' star Benedict Cumberbatch to voice 'The Simpons' character

You know you've made it when you get to voice a character on "The Simpsons"! Okay, so Benedict Cumberbatch probably knew he made it when he was chosen to star in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" sequel and when "Sherlock" was nominated for every award ever, but "The Simpsons" is a pretty cool perk, too.Cumberbatch was in Los Angeles when he pretty much stumbled into a part on the iconic animated series. "I was at a meeting in the same place 'The Simpsons' is recorded and heard there was a part going in an episode," he tells InStyle. "I said, 'I hate to muscle in here guys but could I record it?' Next thing, I'm standing in a room with all those famous voices; Bart, Marge, Homer, Lisa."No word yet on when his episode will air, but we'll keep you posted. Any guess how long it'll take for his "Simpsons" character to inspire elaborate fan fiction?...
