TV ratings: 'Celebrity Apprentice' opens higher, 'Galavant' on par with 'OUAT' Sunday

"The Celebrity Apprentice" outperformed its most recent debut by a good amount in the Fast National ratings for Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, rising six tenths of a point in adults 18-49 over the 2013 premiere. The improvement helped NBC finish second in the demo for the night behind FOX, whose NFL wild-card game ran into primetime and gave "The Simpsons" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" big boosts. Also Sunday, the premiere of "Galavant" posted ratings in line with what "Once Upon a Time" had been drawing in the 8 o'clock hour, but "Resurrection" and "Revenge" both returned low. "Madam Secretary," "The Good Wife" and "CSI" were all on par with their season averages for CBS.FOX averaged 16.9 million viewers and a 9.3 rating/14 share in households, pending updates for its NFL telecast. CBS (9.45 million, 6.0/9) finished second, followed by NBC (6.5 million, 4.0/6) and ABC (5.4 million, 3.1/5).FOX also dominated the 18-49 demographic with a 6.2 rating... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Zap2it/~3/4hhXGOWiDUQ/tv_ratings_january_4_2015_celebrity_apprentice_galavant_simpsons-2015-01

'The Simpsons' is full of Christmas cheer and obligatory 'Frozen' references

"The Simpsons" gets into the holiday spirit with Sunday's (Dec. 7) episode, right down to the opening credits. In place of the usual Springfieldian montage, Bart takes off from school on a snowboard, Homer works at Santa's workshop rather than the nuclear plant, Maggie gets wrapped up like a present (and acts kindly toward her unibrowed nemesis), and Marge pilots a sleigh rather than the family station wagon. Oh, and everyone has elf ears. The credits end with a "Frozen"-inspired couch gag -- or, as a title card puts it, the "obligatory 'Frozen' reference." It casts Lisa as Elsa, and things do not end well for Bart. The capper is Homer-as-Olaf snacking on his own nose.RELATED: 'Simpsons' crossover smackdown: 'Family Guy' vs. 'Futurama'Sunday's episode is called "I Won't Be Home for Christmas" and continues the "Simpsons" tradition of somewhat melancholy holiday episodes.
