Emmys 2011: The best dramas that WON'T be nominated

This is the third year that we've done the "best shows that won't get Emmy nominations" posts, and for the first time "Friday Night Lights" won't be on our list. That's because yours truly is already on record as saying the show, whose series finale airs on NBC Friday (July 15), will finally get its first nod for best drama series when the Emmy nominations are announced Thursday morning. It may be a case of thinking with my heart more than my head, and it wouldn't be a surprise if "FNL" misses the cut again, but we're not having it both ways. (My predictions for the nominees in best drama series and a host of other categories are at GoldDerby.com).There are, however, a few repeats from last year's list. The shows are just as deserving (if not moreso) than they were last year, but we're once again figuring that a combination of a fairly crowded field... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/emmys-2011-the-best-dramas-that-wont-be-nominated.html

'Walking Dead' first look to air during 'Breaking Bad' premiere

AMC drama fans rejoice. Not only is "Breaking Bad" returning to the cable network on Sunday (July 17), but a first look video at the channel's zombie-pocalypse hit "The Walking Dead" will air during the "Breaking Bad" premiere. No word from AMC or show honchos on what the sneak peek clip will contain, but it's sure to be more satisfying than the fan-made promo clip that was widely circulated last week. "The Walking Dead" is also still leading as the no. 1 draw among Comic-Con panels. The annual fan fest kicks off July 21 in San Diego."Breaking Bad" premieres Sunday, July 17, at 10 p.m. ET. "The Walking Dead" returns to AMC in October.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/walking-dead-first-look-to-air-during-breaking-bad-premiere.html

'The Walking Dead' set to take over Comic-Con?

In a zombies vs. vampires fight (and yes, there's a panel on that), zombies may just be the better bet. Look out Twi-hards, a TV show is quietly supplanting your Edward/Bella bloodsucking saga as the biggest draw at Comic-Con. For the first time ever, the annual fan festival has made an online scheduling tool available to attendees. It truly is helpful -- making it possible to easily scan each hour's panels to plot out priorities. But -- bonus! -- the tool also tracks which panels are drawing the most pre-Comic-Con interest. And the data is, well, shocking. Based on users inputting their skeds into the tool, "The Walking Dead" -- AMC's show about survivors following a zombie-pocalypse -- is leading the pack as the most sought-after panel so far. For those of you anxious to add it to your own calendars, the panel is scheduled for Friday July 22 at 11:15 in Ballroom 20 (though based... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/the-walking-dead-set-to-take-over-comic-con.html

The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman Takes Us on Set in New Video

If you're anything like me, you're sitting there everyday by your calendar counting the days until the next season of  The Walking Dead  hits AMC. Any bit of news about the upcoming season is good news, and in this it looks like we've struck gold. What follows is a whole lot of coolness -- but as always, there are some minor spoilers here so beware. The Walking Dead  premieres with a full order of 13 episodes on AMC in October. The Walking Dead: Creator Weighs In on Season 1's Biggest Mystery

[WARNING: The following story contains possible spoilers for Season 2 of AMC's The Walking Dead and definite spoilers from the graphic novels. Read at your own risk.] It's the most talked-about whisper since Lost went to TV heaven: What did The Walking Dead 's Dr. Jenner tell Rick just before the survivors left the Centers for Disease Control in the Season 1 finale? In the episode's closing moments, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his not-so-merry men learned that the CDC headquarters, their safe haven, was set to self-destruct. But before Dr. Jenner (Noah Emmerich) blew the place sky-high, he whispered something to Rick. Judging by Rick's reaction, Dr. Jenner's final words seem to be vitally important... and somewhat of a shock. But what did he say?
