The Year My Parents Went on Vacation (Portuguese: O Ano em Que Meus Pais SaiÃ?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã?­ram de Ferias) is a 2006 Brazilian drama film directed by Cao Hamburger. It tells the story of a boy who is left alone in a Jewish neighborhood in the year of 1970, where both world cup and dictatorship happen in Brazil. The screenplay, which took four years to be completed, was written by Hamburger, Adriana Falcao, Claudio Galperin, Anna Muylaert and Academy Award-nominated Braulio Mantovani.
