A home improvement show that renovates historic homes
Master electrician Allen Gallant shows Kevin the new LED ribbon strip lights he's using under the cabinets in the kitchen and butler's pantry. Norm and Tom build the new mudroom storage system, focusing on the darkly stained maple top and the rail and stile doors and panels. Richard and Tom review the critical need for ventilation in our modern, super insulated buildings. Wallpaper hanger Mark Pehrson shows Kevin his technique for applying wallpaper to a ceiling in one of the girl's rooms. In another daughter's bedroom, Kevin finds painting contractor Mauro Henrique setting up to paint decorative stripes on an accent wall.
Kevin arrives to find Roger starting on the new bluestone front walk despite some significant grade challenges. Around back, Norm finds tile contractor Mark Ferrante installing porcelain tile made to look like slate in the screen porch. Kevin recaps the vanity project and meets Richard to see the sink and faucet set. Nearby in Acton, MA, Roger visits a stone salvage yard to see how Gavin Johnston is selecting and fabricating antique granite for the front walk and custom house marker. At the end of the day, Kevin sees the granite steps in place and lends a hand as Roger sets the house marker.
