Cavanagh was married in Nantucket, Massachusetts to wife Maureen Grise, the photo editor of Sports Illustrated. He and Maureen welcomed first daughter Alice Ann on February 10, 2006 and their second child on June 29, 2007. He has 3 sisters. One lives in London, UK the other 2 in Canada.

Thomas Cavanagh Summary
Thomas Cavanagh (born October 26, 1968) is a Canadian actor best known as the protagonist and title character in the television program Ed as well as for his recurring role on Providence. Cavanagh has received a Golden Globe nomination and a TV Guide Award for his work on Ed. In 2002, he starred in Showtime's Bang Bang You're Dead, which won a Peabody Award. In Spring 2008, he appeared in the ABC drama Eli Stone as the title character's father who suffered from a brain aneurysm. Cavanagh stars in Trust Me with Eric McCormick for TNT in 2009.
