Treme Season 3: The Indomitable Spirit of New Orleans

The poster for the third season of Treme  sent a definite message. With all 12 main characters defiantly posing in front of the camera, all that needed to be said was uttered in the picture's tagline "Is that all you got?". After two seasons of trying to piece together some semblance of a normal life out of the rubble that Katrina left in her wake, the characters of Treme have had enough and now it's time to take matters into their own hands. HBO has released a video that expands upon the message of independence and frustration that the poster initiated, allowing those behind the scenes to set the framework for the third season. And in that third season, premiering next month, we'll be seeing a much more proactive group of characters, having grown tired of the stalled city bureaucracy that has made recovery that much slower. Rather than leave it in the hands of others, Janette, LaDonna, Annie, and all the rest will be putting their collective nose to the grindstone and making things happen, bureaucracy be damned. Treme has been excellent at showing the type of devastation and delayed recovery that resulted from Katrina, so now it has to chance to tell a slightly more upbeat story - life in New Orleans might be far from perfect, but the fact that progress like we're about to see this season can be made is a testament to the indomitable spirit of that vibrant city down south. Treme Season 3: Spoilers for September Episodes

For the first two seasons of Treme , the good people of New Orleans had to deal with problems in both their personal and professional lives as well as the city they called home. There was no real safeguard for them to lean on at the time that they needed support the most, the storm having knocked out businesses, jammed up any city bureaucracy needed to get things moving again, and driven residents to madness. The third season, which premieres next month, looks to add a little more positive forward movement, the worst days of devastation seemingly behind. But things aren't all easy in the Big Easy and just because the biggest storm has passed doesn't mean the skies have completely cleared. Treme Season 3 Poster: Is That All You Got?

The residents of post-Katrina New Orleans have been through a lot during the first two seasons of Treme . Aside from the devastating natural disaster that threatened to wipe the vibrant southern city off the map, the aftermath of the destruction that Katrina wrought has been, to put it lightly, chaotic. The bureaucracy of the city is even more inept than before, the police department has turned toward vigilante justice, and there are millions of people still unable to come home. It'd be enough to make anyone go insane, but not these people. Not at all. Read More... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/JXBbI0GNN2U/

Season 3 Of ‘Treme’ Promises Change Is Coming For New Orleans [Video]

It’s been more than a  year since the season two finale of HBO’s post-Katrina, New Orleans-based series Treme  aired. Some time has passed for the characters as well, when the series returns on Sep. 23, it will pick up in the fall of 2007, some 25 months after the hurricane . Just as New Orleans is still in a state of flux, so are the characters’ lives. The trailer  emphasizes both the joyful aspects of the series by showcasing the rich culture and musical roots of the city, and the trouble that’s on its way in the form of the incoming surge of violence and the opportunistic interlopers who will threaten the city’s recovery this season.
