'True Blood' Gains Former Miss Columbia Paola Turbay

The news over the past few weeks has been filled with break-ups, pregnancies and Robert Pattinson, but if there's one thing we've been missing it's updates on season four of "True Blood." This season is shaping up to be the best one yet, and we've already learned about plenty of new faces headed to Bon Temps. Deadline has learned that there's another new character entering the "True Blood" universe: former Miss Columbia, Paola Turbay, has joined the cast as a fluent Spanish-speaker named Antonia. There's not too much announced about her character, but since we've read the fourth book in Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mysteries series, "Dead to the World," we have an inkling how she'll fit into the show. Be warned, spoilers lie ahead! Read More...

2010's Best Episodes: Vampire Diaries' Killer Transformation and Betty White's Dusty Muffin

It was a great year for TV, which made it very difficult to choose the top 25 episodes of 2010. Recalling and, in some cases, rewatching the stand-out moments was a holiday treat. We got our first glimpse of a bespectacled Clark Kent and saw Snooki pummel Angelina. We wept as Jack Shephard took his final breath and cheered as Leslie took down a mischievous rodent wreaking havoc in Pawnee. Here's the third batch of's weeklong countdown of the year's best episodes. (Catch up first with Episodes 25-21 and Episodes 20-16.) 15. "The Big Show," Work of Art: The Next Great Artist On paper, it seemed like a joke. Could artists — painters, photographers and performance artists — compete in a reality TV art-off? Working under the pressure of a ticking clock? In different mediums? Teamed with other temperamental artistes? Somehow it worked: big characters, big talent, and challenges you've never seen. The finale pitted the bold, soulful work of Abdi against the uber-abstract imagery of Miles and Peregrine's whimsical carnival — and left us wondering whether a second season could recreate the magic. 14. "The Return," The Vampire Diaries Nothing says season premiere like smothering someone with a pillow! Katherine returned to Mystic Falls with a message: "Game on." Katherine's first move: She transforms Caroline from whiny prom queen into a kick-ass vampire. To Read More Click Here.

'True Blood' adds two more. How many more characters can we expect?

Even more new characters for True Blood! Yes, it’s true: In Treatment‘s Dane DeHaan has been cast as Timbo, a teen resident of Hotshot. Recall that Hotshot is HQ for the werepanthers, so I’m guessing DeHaan will be panther-ing it up. Rebecca Wisocky has also been cast as Queen Mab, according to Deadline. DeHaan kicked ass as Jesse on In Treatment this season, so I’m thrilled to see him get another high-profile gig. Jesse was a moody, unpredictable gay teenager trying to find his place in the world, especially in the context of being adopted and not always meshing with his parents. It was a demanding part, especially because Jesse was often annoying and mean and myopic — you know, a teenager. To Read More Click Here.

'True Blood' adds fresh blood: Janina Gavankar and Jessica Tuck become regulars

True Blood  casting! Three new ladies are joining the cast of everyone’s favorite summertime vamp soap: HBO confirms that Janina Gavankar will be a regular on the show come 2011, and Alexandra Breckenridge and Vedette Lim will be recurring; Jessica Tuck, who plays the head vampire spokeswoman, has been bumped up to a regular, too. Gavankar, who will always be Shiva from  The League  to me, is going to play a teacher/shape-shifter, I guess to keep Sam company. Breckenridge, who was great as the pouty Willa on  Dirt  (why am I the only one who loved that show?), will be a Wiccan, and Lim will a cage fighter, according to Deadline. Is cage fighter now a mythical being? No one tell Ryan from  The O.C. . To Read More  Click Here.

'True Blood' Scoop: Major intel on season 4!

How apropos: It’s six days before Halloween, and I just so happen to have gotten the first casting intel on season 4 of True Blood. Wanna know who — and, in some cases, what — is in store? Read on! * Marnie is a Z-list palm reader who’s painfully aware of what a joke she is — that is, until she comes to be possessed by the spirit of a real witch. Anybody else thinking said sorceress might turn out to be the Hallow character Alan Ball told me about back in August? * Andy’s sister, Portia, is as easy on the eyes as she is sharp in the courtroom. And, since I hear possible portrayers have to be cool with nude scenes, we’re gonna get an eyeful. To Read More Click Here.
